PROM PARTY! at the Couture Closet

As some of you know, I've recently "moved in" to the fabulous Couture Closet in downtown LaGrange. In the basement of their adorable dress shop, they've got a resource center for brides to find other great vendors in the area, and I've been blessed with the opportunity to set up my own area there! Come check it out if you haven't already :)

Anyway... a couple weeks ago, Lauren and Tera (the owners) hosted a Prom Party at the Couture Closet for high school girls to come hang out with their friends and try on some spectacular prom gowns! They had music, lots of food, great prizes, and an awesome limo that everyone got to go for a ride in from Community and Aztec Limousine. We had a blast! Here are a few of my favorites from the evening...

Snow Day!!

We've been waiting all winter for a good snow... and now that it is the middle of MARCH, we finally got one! Better late than never, I guess :) It started snowing late Thursday night and didn't stop until Saturday afternoon. I'm pretty sure we got more than a foot of snow, and Eric and I had a few feet of snow piled up around our house and our cars. We let Addy, our kitten, play in it... but she got tired of it pretty quick and was begging to go inside! Here are a few cute ones from the day...

After attempting to get the Jeep out for over 30 minutes, we finally made it to my mom and dad's house to go sledding. We're such kids...

I love this one of my brother, his girlfriend, and our adorable dog Ginger (who has LOVED sledding with us ever since she was a puppy!)

It was fun to have the snow, but now I'm ready for Spring.... :)

Baby Serena!

Eric and I made the trip to Knoxville, Tennessee, yesterday afternoon to meet our new neice, Serena Chebet Curtis. We met up with Eric's dad and headed over to the hospital to see Joe and Sylvia, the proud new parents. Time flew by as we were waiting with them, but once we got sent to the waiting room for baby Serena to be born, it seemed to stop! She is worth the wait, though... she's adorable! And lucky to have such amazing parents! She was born at 1:56 a.m on Monday, February 18, 2008, at 7 lbs. 1 oz, and 18 inches long. Here's just a few of my favorites to share right now...

Congrats Joe and Sylvia, and welcome Serena!

Flourish Workshop | Bridals

So, I may be the last Flourish attendee to post anything, but oh well... Better late than never, right?

A few weeks ago, I attended the FABULOUS Flourish Workshop here in Louisville at the wonderful Angela Anderson's studio. I can honestly say it was the best investment of time, energy, and money that I have ever put into my business. I learned so much, and made several wonderful new friends! Angela, Kim, and Kitty were amazing to watch and learn from.

One thing I never thought I'd say... I want a studio! I LOVE to shoot on location, and I LOVE natural light. I never liked studio photography... it seemed so boring to me! But, after a day of shooting these fabulous models in Angela's studio, and seeing the amazing photo possibilities that having a studio offers, I want one! Maybe one day...

During the Bridal Session, we had the opportunity to photograph three beautiful models wearing incredible dresses provided by Bluegrass Bride. Our make-up artist for the day, Ana Crane-Simpson, did a fantastic job. Here are a few of my favorites from this session. Enjoy!

First, the stunning Leah in an equally amazing Ramona Keveza dress...

Next, our "romantic bride" Erica, in a gorgeous Paloma Blanca gown.
